2023 - Golf Day

03 October 2023 would have been Maxim’s 10th Birthday. This is a milestone and we decided to go BIG and celebrate with a Golf Day.

Golfers gathered at Killarney Country Club for a shotgun start. It was a beautiful, sunny day, spirits were high and the competition fierce.

Michael Said was our official photographer and took both classic and action pictures of all our 4 balls and snacks and shots were happily devoured on sponsored holes. PPS, Chimes Cranes, Fluxmans and Action SA were among our sponsors and kept the atmosphere buzzing.

After 18 holes of birdies and bogies, long drives and lobsided putts the golfers all congregated in the Gin Bar for drinks, dinner and prize giving.

An auction was held for an Original Art Work donated by local Artist Jean Du Plessis as well as signed memorabilia by local MotoGP superstar Brad Binder. Russel Savadier stood in as auctioneer and the generosity of the golfers present was humbling.

After enjoying a sumptuous meal, guests were treated to a speech by our guest of honour Sebastian Crawford. Sebastian is a professional golfer who happens to also have Cerebral Palsy – an affliction that many of our beneficiaries have.
He is a sterling example of what is possible with drive, determination and the correct intervention.

Over R200 000 was raised and this allowed us to not only continue to offer our existing beneficiaries ongoing therapy but also welcome 2 new, very deserving beneficiaries into our Red Balloon Foundation Family.
